University of Bremen Online Magazine
Our online magazine “up2date.” presents current news from the fields of research, teaching, studies, campus life, higher education policy, and transfer into society. Amongst other things, new students will find tips and information about studying and living in Bremen, university staff and students tell us all about their favorite books, and you can find out more about some of the curiosities in public areas, such as some works of art and buildings. The magazine is published in German and English.

Through its social media channels, it communicates, informs, and shares information, event announcements, and news from academia for students, employees, and the public.

The History of the University of Bremen
In 2021, the University of Bremen celebrated its 50th anniversary. Founded in 1971 as a reform university, different milestones shaped the development of the University of Bremen. The digital timeline, a project of the University Archive and the Department of University Communication and Marketing, presents the central and formative events from the founding of the university until today.

The magazine portrays the university in all its facets: It provides clear and comprehensible insights into research, teaching, studies, and campus life.In 2021 update. was published for the last time. All issues are available online as PDF.

The yearbook has accompanied the University of Bremen for over 20 years from 2013 to 2021. The German-English volume always provided diverse insights into university life. It included, for example, a chronicle, current basic data on the development of the university and a focus article as well as the names of all graduates from the respective previous year. The yearbook was published for the last time in 2021.

For 30 years, the Bremer Uni-Schlüssel (BUS) was the magazine of the University of Bremen, published four times a year. It informed students and staff about life and activities on campus and provided a forum for exchanging information and promoting discussion processes. The research magazine highlights presented more than 20 years of research results of the University of Bremen in German and English. Both formats were replaced by the Uni Magazin update. in 2019. Old issues of the Bremer Uni-Schlüssel (BUS) and the highlights magazine are still available in the Administrative Unit for University Communication and Marketingof the University of Bremen.
