Bremer Stiftungsforum Wissenschaft
Successful start to the Bremen Science Foundation Forum at Schütting
Acting together in partnerships and networks: This is how Stiftungshaus Bremen and the University of Bremen Foundation see the #future of foundations. In order to promote exchange and cooperation in the field of #science, they hosted the 1st Bremen Science Foundation Forum at Haus Schütting on 23 November. In his welcoming address, host and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce André Grobien described foundations as an important constant in a social transformation process: "Especially in the current situation, in which the Ukraine war, pandemic, inflation, #energy crisis and many other factors are facing us at the same time, the work of #foundations is invaluable.
Three projects already successfully supported by Bremen foundations presented themselves in keynote speeches: In addition to Prof Dr Andreas Dotzauer's project funded by the Tönjes-Vagt Foundation to research the function of #viruses, Harald Emigholz spoke with Arne Dunker the German Climate Foundation. Finally, Campus prizewinner Iris Dücker presented her teaching method Reflectory to raise awareness of sustainability. The prize is awarded every year by the KELLNER & STOLL - FOUNDATION FOR CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT.
In the entertaining science pitch moderated by Helga Trüpel, representatives of the University of Bremen, Bremen University of Applied Sciences and Jacobs University Bremen presented exciting new projects that are still looking for sponsors (programme details). The subsequent get-together offered plenty of room for questions and good conversations.
We are delighted with the numerous positive responses to our new format and are planning a follow-up in 2023 on the topic of #Energy.
