Internships at research institutions worldwide
The program:
RISE worldwide (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) promotes students' short-term stays abroad at university and research institutions worldwide. In the program, ambitious students from the natural sciences, geoscience and engineering sciences (and related disciplines) have the opportunity to collaborate on research projects.
Who can apply?
Students enrolled in the subjects biology, chemistry, physics, geosciences, engineering and adjacent areas are eligible. Students must be in their first to maximum fifth semester at the time of application (master's students are not eligible).
What is funded?
Internships with research groups are funded worldwide. The projects offered are published in the RISE Project database. The internships must last at least six weeks to a maximum of three months in the period from June to October.
How much is the funding amount?
Depending on the country of destination, the scholarship recipients receive a monthly allowance for the cost of living as well as a travel allowance and health, accident and liability insurance.
Where and when can I apply?
Applications are made to the DAAD ( https://www.daad.de/rise/en/rise-worldwide/ ) in the form of an online procedure.
There are two different application deadlines:
1) only for Canada: late July to mid-September
2) for all other countries : November 1 - December 15
Students can apply for up to three projects within the application period.
