BYRD is the support center for early-career researchers at the University of Bremen. We are the central contact point for doctoral candidates, post-docs as well as established researchers seeking information and support for further training, networking, and consulting.

Consultation and Networking

BYRD advises doctoral candidates on questions surrounding doctoral studies and processes. We support academic and personal exchange through various networking formats.

Consultation and Networking for Postdocs

BYRD also offers postdocs and advanced researchers advice on postdoctoral studies and career options both within as well as outside the scientific community. We inform about training measures and develop formats for networking.

The Latest Info

The Data Science Center has advanced its consultation service. It offers guidance on every phase of the data lifecycle to optimize your data management and analysis. The service is tailored for researchers at all career stages and skill levels.

The third Postdoc Appreciation Week (PAW) in Germany takes place from September 16 to 20, 2024. Initially inspired by Postdoc Appreciation Weeks in UK and the US, the event makes Postdocs' achievements in research and teaching, but also their needs more visible and offers a bundle of events for this target group throughout Germany. This year, BYRD contributes the Workshop "Career Choices".
