Master of Education
Attention:
All Master of Education degree programmes are free of admission for the summer semester 2024! If you meet all admission requirements, you will also receive a place on the programme.
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) is a post-graduate program for holders of a Bachelor degree who wish to become teachers at state schools in Germany. The program comprises studies in respective subjects, methods in specific didactics, educational science, and internships depending on type of school and Masters thesis.
The M.Ed. programs at the University of Bremen encompasses four semesters. The University of Bremen does not offer an M.Ed. program for so-called three-subject studies.
There are addtional requirements depented from your chosen subjects. You will find information into the order of admission and in the attachment of the order of admission.

Subject Combinations for Inklusive Pädagogik/Sonderpädagogik at Elementary Schools
for obtaining the double qualification
is a compulsory subject for a later teaching profession at elementary schools and inclusive education/special education:
- Inclusive Pedagogy
as a major subject.
Complementary to Inclusive Pedagogy, the following must be studied as compulsory subjects:
- German and
- elementary mathematics
as a major and minor subject.
Students who, at the time of the entry into force of this definition of binding subject combination options (winter semester 2020/21) for a teaching profession in the Bachelor's program and Master's program (Master of Education) at the University of Bremen, have taken up the Bachelor's program or the Master's program with subjects other than those permitted here, subjects, subject combinations and double qualification regulations may complete their teacher training studies in accordance with § 4 paragraph 2 of the Bremen Teacher Training Act (Bremisches Ausbildungsgesetz für Lehrämter) and take the associated examinations in the subjects for which they were enrolled at the time of the entry into force of this stipulation.

Matriculation is only possible for the professional specialization "Technology"
