The program: The PROMOS program finances internships worldwide, except for in countries where internships are funded by the ERASMUS program.
Who can apply? All students of the University of Bremen can apply. This includes non-German students.
What is funded? The PROMOS mobility program funds your stay outside of Europe for a duration of 6 weeks to 4 months. The maximum duration of funding per study period (BA / MA) is 4 months. A language or professional course may also be financed in each study period.
- Study period or thesis between 1 and 4 months. For details please see the PROMOS-website
- Internships between 6 weeks and 4 months: The PROMOS program finances internships worldwide outside of Europe. Internships covered by other DAAD-programs will not be financed. Internships may exceptionally be financed by PROMOS during the time between finishing the Bachelor's degree and beginning the Master's degree, provided that thestudent has preliminary approval for the Master's or a similar link with the University of Bremen.
- Language or professional course: Full-time language courses for undergraduate and graduate students at state universities abroad can be funded worldwide with a one-time course fee allowance The participation of undergraduate and graduate students in professional courses offered by foreign universities or public research organizations can also be funded.
What is the funding? The stays are financed with a monthly grant of 300 Euro. Exceptions: Angola, Kazakhstan, Congo, USA, and Venezuela (400 Euro) and Japan (500 Euro). The language or professional courses are funded with a one-time grant of 500 Euro.
Where and when can I apply? The application is done online on the PROMOS-website. However, most departments also require all documents in paper form. Please contact your departmental coordinator for more details.
There are two deadlines: e.g. October for a start date in the first half of the year and February for a start date in the second half.
