26th Hale-Bopp Volleyball Tournament
part of the FB1 Summer Party 2024

Join us for outdoor volleyball with teams of students and staff from FB1 and play for the coveted Hale-Bopp-Trophy.
One bottle of water for every player is included. To regain your strength we will offer hot dogs (also vegetarian) directly at the sidelines.
Running parallel to the tournament is the annual FB1 Summer Party, during which the award ceremony for all teams and a lottery for next years organizers will take place around 5:30 p.m.

Register your team until May 31, 2024 at the latest
team consists of at least 5 students and/or staff from Department 1 of the University of Bremen. Your team captain can register your team with the following information:
- Name of team
- Name of captain
- Affiliation / institute
- Email of captain
- Phone number of captain (optional)
- Names of all players
The game is played according to the official rules of indoor volleyball. A maximum of 6 players is allowed on one side. Play starts with a serve of the back right player from behind the service line. Blocking the serve is not allowed. Every error leads to a point and service rights for the opposite team. At service change the team must rotate their positions clockwise (seen from top). Touching the net or stepping into the opposite field is forbidden.
Common errors are:
- Your service lands in the net or outside the opposite playing field, or at serve you stand inside your field.
- The ball hits the ground inside your field.
- After you touch the ball it hits the ground outside both field.
- The ball is played for more than 3 contacts from your team (block does not count as contact).
- You contact the ball twice in a row (block does not count as contact).
- You catch or lead the ball (contact too long).
- You touch the net (with any body part, but not clothing or hair) or step into the opposite field.
Trespassing: Please avoid stepping/landing/falling into the opposite field, the risk of injury is very high! Since it is not guaranteed that this will not happen, shoes with metal cleats/studs are forbidden!
Note: Replacement is possible after every point.
Please be there on time, the tournament rounds will not be delayed!
