Coming to Bremen by train...
One of the most convenient ways to travel to Bremen is by train. There are direct trains running every hour from and to Hamburg, Hannover, and the Ruhrgebiet, as well as from/to many other German cities. Check the timetable of the German Rail (Deutsche Bahn) for a convenient connection. From the Hauptbahnhof Bremen (Central Station), take the tram line 6 to the University (Direction 'Universität'. The stop at the University is called 'Universität Nord'. See also the section below.
Coming to Bremen by plane...
If you arrive in Bremen by plane, you can take the tram line 6 to the University (Direction 'Universität' (see also the section below. If your flight terminates at Frankfurt Airport, you can take the train (see also the section above) for a trip of approximately 4 hours to Bremen.
Coming to Bremen by car...
If you are traveling to Bremen by car, you most probably are coming along the motorways A 1 (from the Ruhrgebiet or from Hamburg) or A 27 (from Hannover). On the A 1, change at the Bremer Kreuz to motorway A 27 in direction Bremerhaven/Cuxhaven. From the Bremer Kreuz, drive for about 10 kilometers (6 miles) until the exit Universität/Horn-Lehe. Take the exit to the Universität, and continue approximately 300m (1000 feet) along the Autobahnzubringer Horn-Lehe, until you reach a big crossroad at the first traffic light. Turn right into the Hochschulring. After 800m (2500 feet), after the first traffic light, you can enter the parking lot directly in front of the 'Cognium'-building.
Coming to our Institute: By tram
From the Hauptbahnhof Bremen (Central Station), the most frequent and convenient connection to the University is the tram line 6 (Direction 'Universität'). The stop at the University is called 'Universität Nord'. The trams run every 5-20 minutes.
