Born in 1970, she studied Psychology at Bielefeld University (Diploma 1997, DSc 2003 at Bremen University).
From 1997 to 2001 she worked as a research assistant and neuropsychologist (1997-1998: Dept. of Physiological Psychology at Bielefeld University, 1998: Epilepsy Centre, Berlin; 1998-2001: Division of Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurology at Magdeburg University).
In October 2001 she moved to Bremen University. She was certified as "Clinical Neuropsychologist, GNP" in 2002.
