Last Friday was the day for the final project presentations in our IoT course, and the students truly impressed us with their innovative solutions! They developed a range of creative prototypes, including smart sunshades, intelligent traffic lights, an airlock system, and a greenhouse. These projects were built using Arduino, Node-RED, LoRa, LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi, BLE, ESP32, and more — all fueled by a lot of ingenuity (plus some hot glue, foam, and cardboard!).
The focus was on both the implementation and presentation of these solutions, with students adding impressive features like smart notifications, emergency vehicle modes, and automatic calibration.
Choosing the best team for the ComNets IoT Award was no easy task—every group did an outstanding job!
A big thank you also goes to the external evaluators from Hamburg and Sri Lanka.
