New Dean at Faculty 1 as of October 2023
We congratulate Prof. Vellekoop on taking office as the new dean of our faculty. Our sincerely thanks to Prof. Jens Falta for the past 20 years in which he has rendered outstanding services to Department 1.
After Prof. Jens Falta did not stand for re-election as dean at the end of the election period, the Faculty Council elected the new composition of the Dean's Office on July 12, 2023.
We warmly congratulate Prof. Dr. Michael Vellekoop on his election and wish him every success and all the best for the leadership of our department. He is supported by our new Vize-Dean Prof. Martin Eickhoff as well as the re-elected Academic Deanery with Prof. Steffen Paul as Academic Dean and Prof. Annette Ladstätter-Weißenmayer as Deputy Academic Dean. The terms of office begin on October 1, 2023 and are two years each.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Jens Falta for his tireless commitment and successful work for the faculty over the past 20 years. As head of the Surface Physics group at IFP, he will continue to provide the department with his great scientific expertise.
The official handover of the dean’s office took place in a ceremonial event on October 16, 2023.
