Lehramtsstudium international: Mainstreaming Diversity and Inclusion

Since 2019, the project "Internationalising Teacher Training: Mainstreaming Diversity and Inclusion" (DAAD) has been pursuing the goal of providing all student teachers with international and transcultural experiences. Its focus lies on internationalising teaching in the department and on making student mobility processes easier, particularly in the context of mandatory teaching placements.

The University of Namibia (UNAM) is the country’s largest and most important institution of tertiary education. It was founded in 1992 and consists of 12 campuses hosting approximately 30,000 students from 41 countries.

Inclusive Pedagogy of the University of Bremen has collaborated with the area of Inclusive Education at the Department of Applied Educational Sciences at UNAM for a number of years.

The University of Toronto is Canada's largest university and one of the leading research universities in North America. The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto has a unique expertise in teacher training in the context of migration as well as inter-/transculturality and minorities (especially First Nation). The perspective of a critical pedagogy constitutes a subject-specific link to the area of 'intercultural education' at the University of Bremen.

The University of Vienna is with its approx. 90,000 students the largest university in Austria and the oldest one in the German-speaking part of Europe/the world (est. 1365). The cooperation between the Department [?] of Inclusive Pedagogy/FB 12 at the University of Bremen and the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Vienna is built on the similarities in the content and structural approach to the courses offered in Inclusive Education at the universities.
