How to proceed - step by step
For choices of courses and Learning Agreement contact us well in advance, best right in the beginning of planning your ERASMUS exchange.
We help you to clarify language, availability, possible overlaps and reconditions for the courses of your choice and we assist in compiling a study plan for your stay with us.
For any examinations during your stay with us here, online registration for the exams is not possible.
Please register for all single examinations
via email
- to the lecturer of your course
- and put in copy our examination office Biology or Chemistry
- AND the ERASMUS Coordinator erasmusfbprotect me ?!uni-bremenprotect me ?!.de
The lecturer is asked to send the result of your examination to the ERASMUS coordinator erasmusfb2protect me ?!uni-bremenprotect me ?!.de.
All your examination results will be documented in your transcript of records and send to your home ERASMUS Coordinator.

Choice of courses
- Courses in our Bachelor of Biology are mainly taught in German language.
- You can choose almost all courses. Only some of them are not open for exchange students or require specific prerequisites.
- Courses from the first 4 semesters do not overlap.
- Courses of different „profiles“ in study semester 5 and 6 (PM2 and PM3) could well overlap, so a choice from different profiles is hardly possible.
We will sort it out together

Study Bachelor Biology in English - semester packages
Marine Biology
You study 15 ECTS in Marine Biology in our Bachelor specialty modules PM2 Mar (6 ECTS) and PM3 Mar (9 ECTS), add an individual project (9 ECTS) and complete the packages with lectures in “Methods in Molecular Biology” and “Biodiversity” (3 ECTS each).

Molecular Biology
You study 12 ECTS in Molecular Biology: PM2 Mol with the lecture “Methods in Molecular Biology” and the seminar “Current topics in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology” (6 ETCS), and add the advanced seminars “Organismic Models for Bioscience Research” and “Methods for Bioscience Research” (3 ETCS each).
You perform an individual project (9 ECTS).
You complete your packages with lectures in Systemic Neurosciences and the seminar “Mind Talks” (http://www.bernstein.uni-bremen.de/mindtalks) (6+3 ECTS).

Neurosciences
This package is suitable for advanced students or students from specialised bachelor programs, or for Master students.
You study 18 ECTS in the field of Neurosciences with “Fundamentals of Neurochemistry”, “Systemic Neurosciences”, “Theoretical Neurosciences” (including Statistical Methods and Computational Neurosciences) and the seminar “Mind Talks” (http://www.bernstein.uni-bremen.de/mindtalks).
You complete the package with 9 ECTS in Molecular Biology with “Methods in Molecular Biology” and the advanced seminars “Organismic Models for Bioscience Research” and “Methods for Bioscience Research” (3 ETCS each).

You study 18 ECTS in Ecology with a glance to Marine Ecology: You study 12 ECTS “Advances in Biodiversity” including the seminars “Ecological Seminar/Literature club” and “Science Chat” (https://www.uni-bremen.de/fb2-sciencechat), and 6 ECTS in Marine Ecology with PM2 Mar (Introductory Marine Biology with Excursions and Scientific Colloquium).
You add an individual project (9 ECTS).
You complete the package with 3 ECTS in Molecular Biology with “Methods in Molecular Biology”.

Mixed Package
The Mixed package includes lectures and seminars in Molecular Biology (15 ECTS) (PM2 Mol = “Methods in Molecular Biology” and “Current Topics in Molecular Biology”, the advanced seminars “Organismic Models for Bioscience Research” and “Methods for Bioscience Research” and an additional specialised seminar from the offer of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology like “Special Aspects of Molecular Diabetology”, 3 ETCS each).
You in study“Advances in Biodiversity” including the seminars “Ecological Seminar/Literature club” (9 ECTS), and the lecture “Introductory Marine Biology” (3 ECTS).
You can add another seminar like “Mind Talks” (http://www.bernstein.uni-bremen.de/mindtalks) or “Science Chat” (https://www.uni-bremen.de/fb2-sciencechat), as appropriate (3 ECTS).

Choice of courses
- Master students and Bachelor students of specialized Bachelor programs can choose courses of our Master programs (Marine Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Ecology).
- By individual application selected courses from MSc Neurosciences can also be studied.
- A combination of Master and Bachelor courses is hardly possible because of overlaps.

Only a few courses in the Master program Chemistry are English taught.
For participation in Master courses only graduates from Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biotechnology will be admitted.
