Learning objectives
- Organize the transportation of goods over thousands of miles
- Understand the trade-offs between different modes of transportation
- Ensure goods are properly packaged for the journey (safety measures imposed + regulations)
- Understanding the risks to the goods during transportation in order to insure them
- Minimize risks associated with international payment by selecting the right payment currency or hedging strategy
- Ensuring goods are shipped with the proper paperwork for customs clearance in the destination country
- Thoroughly defining who, between them and the foreign counterpart, is responsible for what aspects and what documents, according to the security measures to prevent damage, of the trip

Master seminars
Learning objectives
Students gain insight into selected problem areas of supply chain management and develop specific solution options based on theoretical concepts. The use of case studies allows the transfer of conceptual problems into a real business context. Students are able to identify and solve typical problem areas. They are able to practically apply the logistic theory and method repertoire. Through the presentation of their own solutions, the individual ability to reflect is increased.

In the advanced seminar, students deal with established and current specialist articles from high-ranking scientific journals. The students are able to critically analyze the scientific discussion in the field of logistics in terms of content and methodology, to present their own approaches and to conduct a critical reflection.

In the context of the advanced seminar, topics from logistics research are discussed in terms of content and analyzed methodically. This is intended to provide an overview of the broad scientific field of logistics. Presentations and discussions by the students are intended to enhance their ability to engage in scientific discourse.

Learning Objectives
Students will be able to gain in-depth knowledge in many aspects such as technology, research, problem solving and management and will be enabled to recognize the societal consequences of proposed solutions as well as interdisciplinary communication and collaboration. Related to the circumstances of each professional experience, the main objective of the project report is to document the results of a team-based development of the solution within a defined problem area. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the characteristics and specifics of a project in the professional world and will be able to improve their experience in handling and managing such projects.
Contents
This course is based on a group project. The main idea is to participate as a group and work on different sectors or topics within a real industry project scenario. The topics will change every year depending on current problems from industry or current topics within research projects.
