Mariela Tapia held a seminar during 24.-25.08.2023 at the 26th Informatica Feminale, the international Summer University for women* students and practitioners in computer science, which is organized by the University of Bremen.
During two days, participants learnt basic concepts of renewable energy, as well as tools for the analysis of satellite-derived and reanalysis data for renewable power generation purposes. Then, during hands-on lab sessions, participants used publicly available gridded meteorological datasets to analyze the spatio-temporal variability of solar resources.
The women* who attended the seminar appreciated their first hands-on experience with renewable energy data analysis. Mariela Tapia was delighted to participate in this empowering event and to motivate more women* to work in this field.
