In today's knowledge driven society, patents and other intellectual properties (IP) are valuable assets for companies. They are proven crucial to the competitiveness and success of companies. However, assets must not only be managed efficiently, but the knowledge associated with these values must also be used strategically for successful business. These tasks are linked to complex decision-making, which must be performed not only by patent professionals, but also by management in the pursuit of corporate objectives. In addition, complex patent decisions are the prerequisite for successful innovation management.
At the DIFI conference on 26 September 2019 in Darmstadt, Germany, five speakers will present their perspectives on the topic. The IPMI is pleased to accompany this conference and to provide insights into the work at the institute with the topic “A maturity model to support patent management in medium-sized companies”.
