Workshop about data visualization
The Minds, Media, Machines Integrated Graduate School (MMMIGS) is hosting a workshop about data visualization for doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers. The workshop takes place on March 15, from 9:00-17:00 at the University of Bremen and will be held in English. Please find a description of the workshop contents below.
Participation
Doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers are eligible to participate in the workshop if they are members of a doctoral program in the MMMIGS network or if they are part of a working group headed by a member of the high-profile area Minds, Media, Machines. Please provide the corresponding doctoral program or working group in the registration form.

Workshop description
Contents
The workshop will cover on the one hand general aspects of visualization with a focus on poster presentations and on the other hand specific data visualization tools (e.g., R, Shiny, and Plotly). The detailed contents will be tailored to the demands of the participants. Please register below until Februray 29, 2024 to receive the respective participant questionnaire. Later registration is also possible, but you won't be able to influence the content of the workshop.
Instructor
The workshop will be taught by Dr. Paul C. Bauer (www.paulcbauer.de), a researcher at the University of Freiburg (Seminar für Politikwissenschaft), at LMU Munich (Department of Statistics with Frauke Kreuter) and an external fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) where he leads a DFG project. Paul conducts research in the areas of political sociology, methodology and computational social science.
