"The world as a guest in my office."
Most international members of the University of Bremen know Holger Esen. For more than 13 years, he has been advising foreign students and academic staff as well as the academic institutions on matters relating to immigration law.
50 years ago, little Holger was in kindergarten in his hometown of Wilhelmshaven and wanted to become a locomotive driver. In 50 years, Mr Esen imagines, the University of Bremen will be one of the leading universities in Germany. In the meantime, Holger Esen enjoys his daily work with young people and loves the international aspect of his job, as he says himself: "The world as a guest in my office"!
