Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Scholz-Reiter
Rector of the University of Bremen since 2012
"What do I like? Sharing visions and making them a reality together".
For Bernd Scholz-Reiter, the University of Bremen is an open, cooperative and friendly place that is also ambitious and eager to experiment: a great university!
Born in the southern part of Lower Saxony, 50 years ago he was still attending the middle level of a grammar school for modern languages, mathematics and natural sciences - surrounded by a lot of nature. He chose the University of Bremen in 2000 because it is excellently positioned in the research area of production technology and he was able to establish the specialist area of Planning and Control of Production Engineering Systems here in conjunction with the management of the BIBA - Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics. He has led the University of Bremen as Rector for 9 years. For him, this also means being the representative of an excellent European research university and developing it with vision.
His goal is to shape the future with passion, not to stand still and to make the world better together through research and teaching. To be open to new things and to be oriented towards diversity!
