Research

The Center for Didactic Education in the Social Sciences initiates empirical research on social science teaching and learning research. The focus is set on multiple complementary and interdisciplinary projects.

The basic fields of study are 

• the individual requirements for social science learning, and the resulting consequences for the practice of social science education
• the specific conditions of teaching in the social science domain
• the implementation and evaluation of school and extracurricular social science education (research-theory-practice-reflection)

The ZeDiS ensures the education and promotion of young researchers through regular structured courses in the field of methods of didactic teaching and learning research. This is done in cooperation with other scientifically and professional didactic chairs.
