Neodadistische Aktionskunst – wie Fluxus gelegentlich auch genannt wurde – setzt auf die Auflösung der künstlerischen Medienabgrenzungen, die Einbeziehung des Zufalls, des Alltags und der Zuschauer. In seinem theoretischen Manifest definiert George Maciunas Fluxus als "einfach, unterhaltsam, anspruchslos".  Aus der Musik kommend wendet sich Fluxus auch dem Film als einer möglichen Ausdrucksform zu.
