Intensify communication with transfer partners

Measures and examples of good practice in this field of action:

Young researchers produce video on nanoparticles

Doctoral students from the NanoCompetence doctoral programme have produced a video to present their research on nanoparticles in a generally understandable way. The film begins by explaining the basics of nanotechnology. The young scientists then present their projects, in which they look at the effects of nanoparticles on the environment, the brain and society. All of this is communicated in the video in an understandable and humorous way using comic and Lego scenes.

You can watch the video on the University of Bremen's YouTube channel.

This field of action also includes increasing the accuracy of the university's continuing education programmes. It is intensifying the dialogue with companies and institutions about their future requirements for skilled workers and developing suitable further education opportunities together with them.

One current example is the continuing education programme "Software Development & Software Engineering", with which the Academy for Continuing Education is responding to the major shortage of skilled workers in the IT sector. The programme is very practice-oriented thanks to work on specific projects and an integrated company internship.

Further information can be found at the Academy for Continuing Education.

Citizen Science: Research projects with citizen participation at the University of Bremen

Citizen science or citizen research refers to the participation of citizens in research projects. This can range from helping to collect data to the joint planning, realisation and publication of research projects. At the University of Bremen, the Geosciences Collection is a pioneer in the realisation of citizen science projects. Currently, the cooperation between computer scientists and beekeepers, in which beehives are equipped with sensors, is attracting a lot of attention, for example in this detailed project presentation by the press service of the Bremen Economic Development Corporation.

A compilation of Citizen Science projects at the university can be found here.
