On October 18, 2019, Matheus Eduardo Leusin and Björn Jindra presented their working paper at the workshop "The Economics and Management of AI Technologies" in Strasbourg, France. The working paper analyses how the development of a particular General Purpose Technology may be influenced by different path dependencies at country level. The workshop was a follow-up to an earlier workshop held in the Copenhagen Business School at the beginning of this year. The basic idea of both events is to establish a network of international researchers interested in the socio-economic impact of transformations triggered by artificial intelligence worldwide.
In this context, Björn Jindra and Matheus Eduardo Leusin also participated in another workshop in Strasbourg organized by the BETA Group entitled "Economics of Science and Innovation". The BETA Group is a joint research unit of the universities of Strasbourg and Lorraine, alongside the CNRS, INRA, and AgroParisTech. We would like to thank the group for the organization of the event and especially Stefano Bianchini, who was also the main organizer of the AI-related workshop and is an active partner of the international AI network.
