The Hans Böckler Foundation supports Prof. Dr. Lars Hornuf’s and Dr. Ass. Jur. Sonja Mangold’s new research project on "Platform work and data protection in a national and international perspective: market players, problem areas, regulatory requirements." The project, which is carried out in cooperation with the Hugo Sinzheimer Institute for Labor and Social Law, is carried out during the coming two years. As part of the project, the scholars conduct joint empirical and legal research on how data protection issues are dealt with in the crowdworking and gig working market in Germany, the USA, and China. Based on the findings, policy proposals on data protection for platform work are developed, which address in particular the European level.
