The course is based on a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and information technology or a comparable scientific degree. At the University of Bremen, students can choose to specialize in one of the following areas:

•   Automation Technology
•   Renewable Energies
•   Information and Communication Technology
•   Sensors and Electronics
•   Smart Electronic Systems

Lectures, exercises, internships as well as experimental training in the laboratories of electrical engineering and information technology prepare the students for their future job in the best possible way. Qualified engineers find employment in industrial companies in research and development as well as in the service sector and have excellent career prospects.

Course contents

Supplemented by elective modules, the course is divided into basic and advanced courses in the following areas of specialisation:

  • Renewable energies

  • Automation/ mechatronics

  • Information and communication technology

  • Microelectronics and communication technology

  • Microelectronics and microsystems technology

    - B.Sc. in electrical engineering and information technology or a comparable scientific degree
    - language skills: German at least level C1 (CEFR), English at least level B1 (CEFR)
