Physics education - Undergraduate degree
Back to school after academic degree
The program physics education at grammar schools and secondary schools comprises the Bachelor's degree in six semesters followed by the Master of Education in four semesters. The first two years of study are dedicated to basic training in experimental physics and teaching methodology. The fifth semester is dedicated to the teaching internship and the last semester mainly to the bachelor thesis.
The Master's phase teaches physics didactics and theoretical physics. At the University of Bremen the primary topics in physics didactic research are the modelling and measurement of competence in physics and the ways of explaining physics in physics lessons. This opens up a wide range of opportunities for students to take part in current research in their subject and in didactics.
