Study Work Life Week
The fifth "Vereinbarkeitswoche" (Study Work Life Week) of this year will take place from May 13th to May 17th, 2024. We are looking forward to it!
Why Compatibility? Compatibility is more than just "Work-Life Balance"! Life encompasses much more than squeezing a bit of leisure time into the work routine. All aspects, whether planned or unplanned, joyful or challenging, should be able to be reconciled with each other.
Our offerings are aimed at students, employees of the University of Bremen, and the interested public nationwide. We do not want to give the impression that difficulties in balancing everyday life, study, work, family, leisure, etc., are self-inflicted. Instead, they are structurally created constraints that mutually reinforce or exclude each other. This structural inequality leads to a skewness, especially for women, and a crisis in the care sector. While we address these issues, we also aim to provide individual support services.
From May 13th, 2024, to May 17th, 2024, the University of Bremen will be hosting its fifth "Study Work Life Week."
As every year, we will be offering a series of events focusing on various care, support, and discrimination issues. Topics will include life phases marked by crises and invisible obstacles in everyday life. Together, we will discuss stumbling blocks and gather solutions. Our experts will shed light on discrimination in university settings, student life, or professional environments, and illustrate what a society with equal participation opportunities for all could look like. Our events provide a space for exchanging ideas, networking, and empowerment!

The fourth Vereinbarkeitswoche at the University of Bremen took place from 08.05.23 to 12.05.23.
As every year, we offered events (mostly online) on a variety of topics. Among other things, it was about life phases marked by crises and invisible obstacles in everyday life. Our speakers talked about discrimination at university, in everyday life or at work and how a society with opportunities for participation for all can look. At the same time, our events offered the opportunity for exchange and networking, because: you are not alone!
