Job Application
Personnel managers assess differently than professors. In the world of work, other rules apply than at universities. Apart from professional knowledge, you need to have mastered a whole range of other skills, too. Students hoping to find a work placement or graduates applying for a permanent job must be able already in their written applications to convincingly show they possess the skill sets, job motivation and character employers are looking for.
Get it right!
The Praxisbüro is there to help you. Its members of staff offer students of the Faculty personal counseling as well as comprehensive coaching in workshops and seminars on everything to do with drawing up a professional job application.
The general aim is to develop an individual application strategy that takes account of the following:
- Creating your own individual profile
- Career planning and application strategy
- The application documents
- The job interview (classic interview, group discussion, assessment center)
You can find Links and literature on the topic (in German) in the Infothek information library and our learning module on putting together a written application for a work placement below or under our learning modules.
To be invited to a job interview these days, you must submit an impeccable written job application. We will be happy to be of assistance.
"Get online!" is undoubtedly the present trend. To avoid piles of paper work, save the mailing costs of replying and facilitate the selection and review procedure, more and more employers request online applications and sometimes even offer their own online application form.
