Other than in feature films in which the depiction of nature mostly serves narration experimental cinema focusses on the aesthetic aspects of natural phenomena. Whether time lapse shots make the leaves of the trees dance in the beams of sunlight or the clouds drift hastily over a changing sky: the film experience hightens the sensual awareness towards nature. Beyond those offers of bodily immersion in an almost meditative mode there are also films that reflect in a more intellectual way the relationship of human animal and nature in times of the anthropocene. The program assimilates a surreal thunderstorm, the deconstructing of a poem by J. W. Goethe, an essayistic study of a problematic territory and a slightly philosophical desktopvideo.
