Depri-Tuesday: Encounters with depression and mood disorder
On Depri-Tuesday selected and rare films on depression and affective disorders will be presented, which address this problem: Enlightening and poignant, the demonstrations in the sense of a differentiated, media-oriented viewing are embedded in discussions with experts from the depression work in the health and cultural profession. The program invites interested parties to get in touch with those affected, relatives and experts from the shared film experience and sheds light on our social and family togetherness. Thus, the view for a personal as well as cultural significance of the disease can be sensitized to make depression comprehensible even in a larger context.
The film series conveys research approaches of the ongoing doctoral project "The Aesthetic Dimension of Mental Illness", which is funded by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes. The program is a cooperation with CITY 46 / Kommunalkino Bremen e.V. The association "Friends for Life" e.V., the Bremen Alliance against Depression, the KulturAmbulanz Bremen, the departments 10 and 11 of the University of Bremen, Radio Sonnengrau are further cooperation partners. Patron of the film series is the Bremen Senator for Health, Science and Consumer Protection, Prof. Dr. med. Quante-Brandt.
