Turkey Day at the University of Bremen
The 22nd October is Turkey Day in the University of Bremen. The International Office will be present in the Glass Hall from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. to answer students’ questions on educational and research stays in Turkey. Representing their Turkish partner universities, a group of ERASMUS students will be on hand to talk about their experiences in a country full of political, cultural, social and societal contrasts. There will be a tea bar, where students will be able to ask questions about what interests them in Turkey in an informal atmosphere. They can inquire about all sorts of things, from university life in Turkey, to the demonstrations and issues surrounding Gezi Park or the truth about some misleading German-Turkish clichés. An exhibition of Turkish caricatures will provide some more light-hearted insights into the country’s political culture, and on a more serious note, there will be a library of classical and contemporary Turkish literature.
