Together with Christina Plump (DFKI), Bernhard J. Berger (Institute of Embedded Systems – Hamburg University of Technology) and Rolf Drechsler, DSC research associate Christopher Metz has developed a novel tool for the analysis of PTX code which allows to design more energy-efficient applications.
After Christopher presented the work “Hybrid PTX Analysis for GPU accelerated CNN inferencing aiding Computer Architecture Design” at the FDL 2023, the authors received the Best Paper Award. The hybrid profiling tool enables to analyse PTX code statically and dynamically and can acquire metrics beyond static analysis. The generated profiles can be used for power and performance prediction of GPU applications. Read more about the novel profiling tool HyPA »here.
The FDL (Forum on Specification and Design Languages) is an international event during which academics and industrials get the opportunity to exchange their ideas and experiences and talk about new trends related to languages, tools, and techniques for developing software and hardware. This includes a variety of targeted systems such as cyber-physical systems, distributed systems and IoT. This year, the forum took place for the 26th time in Turin, Italy.
We congratulate the whole team for winning the Best Paper Award!
