Periods of work experience are important elements of studies. They provide an opportunity for students to put the knowledge learned at university into practice, and can also be helpful for preparing career starts. In order to facilitate the mediation of work placements, in 2012 the University of Bremen is once again organizing the event “Praxisbörse – die Messe” [Practice Exchange – the Fair]. To be held his year on 8th May, the largest university transfer fair in North West Germany will attract large numbers of students, enterprises and institutions wishing to establish contacts. Via talks and discussions, or meetings on the exhibition stands, the Praxisbörse opens up many opportunities for exhibitors and visitors.

This year 110 enterprises and institutions will be presenting themselves from 10.00 a.m. till 4.00 p.m. in Building GW 2 and the Glass Hall/Central Area of the University of Bremen: Medium-sized enterprises from the region, large global concerns, as well as cultural and social institutions.

Moreover, a number of professional trainers will be on hand to carry out free checks of application portfolios, with offers of individual coaching and seminars on everything to do with preparing successful job applications. There will also be tips on topics like “Career Prospect – Entrepreneur”, or “How do I find the right job for me“. And 13 enterprises and institutions will hold 20-munute presentations.

Under the auspices of Otto Lamotte, Bremen businesses are supporting the Praxisbörse and will also be present.
