The University of Bremen is extending the closing date for registration in a number of subjects. If you have so far not been allocated a university place and/or want to change your subject, you now have time until 15th October 2011 to submit your application for enrolment. Places are still available among other disciplines in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, as well as Sociology, Geography, Philosophy and Foreign Languages. You will find more information under www.uni-bremen.de/studienplatz.
“There are several reasons why we still have room for more students despite the high number of around 32,000 applications” explains Beatrix Bresemann of the University’s Registrar’s Office. She suspects that one cause might be the large number of multiple applications. “In such cases, the applicants with the best grades are accepted by several other universities as well as us.” They can only take up one place, though. Another reason is that many applicants restricted their choice to subjects like Psychology, German Studies, the Engineering Sciences, and Public Health.
If you submit your application online, all the necessary documents like your qualification for university entrance and evidence of language competence must be sent by surface mail to the Reigistrar’s Office, i.e. Sekretariat für Studierende der Universität Bremen, Bibliothekstr. 1, 28359 Bremen.
