Description

The aim of the contract awarded to the ubc's "Center for Education and Care" by the Bremen Training Association is to develop a curricular basis for a one-year nursing assistant training course in Bremen. The federal state of Bremen has decided to reform the geriatric nursing assistant training program offered to date. Instead of focusing exclusively on outpatient and inpatient long-term care, the aim is to open up to the hospital sector. Even if a comprehensive generalist approach cannot be implemented due to the short training period, selected skills and content are to be included in preparation for the hospital care sector. These changes are also reflected in the planned job title "nursing assistant". Furthermore, in contrast to the previous geriatric nursing assistant training, which is to be replaced with this new training, the training is also to be opened up to trainees without a training voucher. These and other requirements, which were identified as part of a review commission for the Senator for Labor (Darmann-Finck / Cordes 2021; Cordes/Darmann-Finck 2021) (e.g. competence and situation orientation as curricular design principles, adaptation to the state of nursing science research, enabling permeability), will be implemented in the future curriculum. The curriculum is intended to form the basis for the future legal reform of nursing assistant training in Bremen.
