Accelerating research to market readiness – this is the goal of the first “innovate! Center”. Three pilot projects will develop sustainable solutions for technological challenges starting in 2025. The Joachim Herz Foundation will provide up to 30 million euros of financing for the endeavor.
Research
Our scientific expertise covers the synthesis, characterization, and modelling of advanced materials along the entire production chain of machine components. We strive to achieve accurate control of the chemical composition and microstructure of individually tailored structural and functional materials at all length scales during their manufacturing, engineering, and usage.
Currently our members lead eight coordinated DFG programmes:
- 1 collaborative research centres (CRC),
- 3 research training groups (RTG),
- 2 research units (RU),
- 2 priority programmes (PP).
