PIP update
The summer school 2023 on “Machine Learning and its Applications” was being held on September 25-29 at the University of Bremen, Germany.
Our one-week summer school brought together students, researchers, and professionals from diverse backgrounds to explore cutting-edge topics in neuroscience, wearable sensor data analysis, and robotics. Participants had the opportunity to advance their skills in this exciting field, but also got to network and connect with like-minded individuals who are as enthusiastic about machine learning.
Everybody had an unforgettable week of intensive learning, inspiring discussions, and lots of fun during the breaks and evening events, with excursions to the Bremen Drop Tower, Marum, a competitve game night and discovering Bremen's sights and nightlife. If you missed it, make sure to check for our next event!

- We will talk about the traditional route of becoming a professor, what is the process of securing a professorship, and also I will provide tips for successfully transitioning into post-Ph.D. life.
- Additionally, this talk will provide insights into the importance of networking and professional development in securing a desirable career in academia.
- A Question and Answer (Q&A) session will be held at the end of the talk.
Even though business trips are not yet an option, many conferences are currently taking place again. Mostly as online conferences. Don't forget PIP! We also support international online conferences for PIP members.
Maybe now is also a good time to choose a language course again and improve your German skills. PIP covers up to €400 per year and per person.
Other financial support is also available for our members, be it technical or educational. It is always worth asking!
Go ahead and contact Kerstin at the PIP Office to find out more.

The first PIP Summer School took place in September 2016. The PIP-Members had an opportunity to participate in various interesting lectures, to visit the Climate House in Bremerhaven and to enjoy the preformance of a music band. Numerous collective activities, meetings and entertainments opened possibilities for greater integration, new contacts and scientific collaborations.
