YUFE Develops Virtual Campus

Since the official beginning of the project, numerous students, lecturers, and researchers would have already traveled to one of the YUFE partners or would be getting ready to embark on their semester abroad. However, everything came to a halt in March, and nobody knows when the next meeting in person will be possible. Therefore, online education gains significance. “The YUFE Alliance has decided to boost the development of its virtual campus,” says Annette Lang, director of the International Office at the University of Bremen. “This online platform is supposed to virtually connect citizens, students, and university staff all across Europe. For the winter semester 2020/21, students will now not pack their bags as planned but instead can access a range of online courses from ten universities.”

All partners have decided to meet the challenge actively and see it as a chance. They are set to support each other, exchange online formats, provide each other with competencies, and bring their respective strengths to the network. Several task forces now work on the question of how online teaching can be successful, how the challenges of digital exam formats can be overcome, or which forms of support lecturers now need to offer their courses online.
