Alumni work in the departments
The 12 faculties of the University of Bremen take care of their students in a variety of ways, including welcome activities, alumni celebrations and events for job and career advice. The Alumni Association provides them with annual funding for these activities.

'Aus den Akten auf die Bühne'
Under the direction of Dr Eva Schöck-Quinteros, students of the Institute of History and ensemble members of the bremer shakespeare company develop staged readings from original historical documents. A success story since 2007, winner of several awards.
B-Human is currently one of the best robot football teams - worldwide! Seven times world champion, nine times winner RoboCup German Open, once winner RoboCup European Open. The team consists of students and researchers from the University of Bremen and the DFKI. We are happy to support them!
Research for a sustainable future. The award winners are honoured for a research project at the University of Bremen (Master's/Doctoral thesis) that contributes to the sustainable use of resources and the protection of the environment, the climate and the oceans.
300 euros per month is granted to students whose career path leads them to expect outstanding achievements in their studies and career. Not only grades are honoured, but also social commitment. Half of the scholarship is financed by the federal government, the other half by private donors.
This prize is awarded to professors who accompany doctoral theses in an outstanding manner and inspire special performance. The prize money is donated by the Alumni Association and is used exclusively for projects to support doctoral students.
The team Erasmus of the University of Bremen, a football team of European exchange students, had qualified for the final of the Uni-League Euro in Athens in 2017. Thanks to the financial support of the Alumni Association, the team was able to travel to Greece.

The annual festival for literature that crosses borders has become an institution in Bremen. The Alumni Association sponsors conferences and readings in a university context, usually with exclusive discussion rounds for alumni.
Bremen students in Moldova and media scientists from the Kurdish region in northern Iraq visiting the University of Bremen - not exactly an everyday occurrence and only possible because these exciting international projects were financially supported by the Alumni Association.

Dickinson Chairs
They are real eye-catchers in their bright red, placed in inviting small groups in front of the administration building and in the campus park - some of them financed by the Alumni Association. The popular garden furniture is a reminder of the university's partnership with Dickinson College in the USA.
