Personal details
Since June 01, 2022, Matheus Eduardo Leusin is a Postdoc in the working group of Prof. Dr. Christian Cordes at the University of Bremen. Matheus has a background in industrial engineering and has concluded his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Bremen. His Ph.D. research deals with the worldwide emergence and diffusion of technologies linked to Artificial Intelligence (AI). Taking an evolutionary perspective, his research provides a comprehensive overview of the technological development of AI, how this development was reflected in countries’ exploration of these technologies, and how the most recent wave of AI development affects the innovative activities of firms that introduce AI innovations. During his Ph.D., Matheus also researched the emergence of digital-sustainability technologies, which are at the heart of the European Green Deal objectives. In his master's, completed in 2018, Matheus analysed the emergence and diffusion of wind technologies in Brazil. He also worked during his master’s as a guest researcher at the Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik GmbH (BIBA), researching the development of Cyber-Physical Systems.
