23. Internationales Bremer Symposium zum Film: Grenzüberschreitendes Kino. 25.04.-25.04.2018 im Kino City46. Universität Bremen.

The label film:art covers programmes of  "artistic" films, mainly experimental works, avant-garde films and forms of media art. The programmes are being curated and presented by Christine Rüffert.

The programme series has been running on a regular basis since 1992. It also complements current exhibitions in Art Museums and other cultural events in the city of Bremen. Screening place is the Communal Cinema Bremen / CITY 46.

Endzeit – Time for Fantasies

20:00: film:art 103 at CITY 46, Bremen

Looking for the ultimate happy ending but finding a snow white on drugs and a buried child that pokes its arm out of the grave instead, the films  of the programme come in diverse and humoresque forms from animated cartoons, found footage collage or music clip.  Audiovisual fantasies full of eerie stories and melancholic scenarios bear testinmony of a general fatigue in the face of our performance society.  The promise of bliss of consumerism lost its comforting certainty and leaves behind a void.

The programme accompanies the exhibition FORT. FANTASY ISLAND at Museum Weserburg, Bremen.
