  • Research group "Innovation and Structural Economics"

„The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from old ones.“ (John Maynard Keynes)

Welcome

to the Chair of Economics of Innovation and Structural Change

Since October 1, 2024, Johannes Paha has been acting head of the Chair of Economics, in particular Innovation and Structural Economics.

The holder of the professorship, Jutta Günther, has been Rector of the University of Bremen since September 1, 2022. The academic work and third-party funded projects at the professorship will continue seamlessly.

Currently, a joint research project deals with the structural economic consequences of socialism and transformation in East Germany and Eastern Europe (Mod-Block-GDR). Other projects of the working group focus on the development and deployment of sustainable energy systems and technologies (H2B, hyTracks, hyBit) and on the dynamics of innovation systems (DynamicInno). Postdocs of the working group are initiators of the network "Learning (from) Transformation", which is funded by BYRD.
