We are here to help - in person and online

We offer a wide variety of different options to help make your  language learning as effective as possible.

Our Language Resource Centre is in GW2 A3.070, and offers

  • a small reference library with over 1,300 sets of material for over 40 different languages
  • free access to the Macmillan English Campus and Rosetta Stone language learning portals
  • information about our complete programme (tutoring programme, intensive courses, special events, languages)
  • find a partner for a language tandem
  • Writer's Help Desk
  • workshops with tips on how to learn a language effectively (in the semester)
  • language cafés for a range of languages (in the semester)
  • foreign language literature: free book exchange
  • information on suitable material for the independent study component of your language course
  • Independent study tips in Moodle: tips and options for more than 15 languages to help you with your independent study
  • placement tests for English (c-test) and 14 other languages (DIALANG)

Opening hours during the semester break winter semester 2024/25 (Feb, 03 - March,  28, 2025)

Mondays and Fridays: 10:00 - 14:00

Tuesdays - Thursdays: 10:00 - 18:00

Important information:

From Wednesday, 19 February until Wednesday, 12 March, renovation work will take place in the Language Resource Centre at Bremen University. The big study room will be closed during this period.

Opening-hours of the Info Desk (for picking up transcripts of records etc.) this week:

Monday, March 10: 10:00-14:00

Tuesday, March 11: 14:00-18:00

Wednesday, March 12: 10:00-14:00

Thursday, March 13: 10:00-14:00 (big study room is also open for self-learning)

Friday, March 14: closed
