Happy Birthday, SZHB! The Language Center of the Universities in the State of Bremen has been operating for 30 years. We want to celebrate this anniversary on Saturday, May 24, together with the Bremen cultural institutes and the Bremen City Library.

On Friday, April 25, 2025, the SZHB (in cooperation) is offering an afternoon of language activities and games for anyone interested in English at the central branch of the city library.

Our Language Resource Centers (SLZ) at the University of Bremen and Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences offer many opportunities for independent language learning. Find out more about the opening hours and programs

Want to improve your academic English at your own pace? Then this supervised online self-study course is just right for you! It starts the week of April 14th and there are still a few places available.

Course registration for our language courses in the summer semester 2025 is still possible. We look forward to seeing you!

On the occasion of French Language Day, language experts from the Institut Francais will be offering an afternoon of language activities and games at the city library (Stadtbibliothek / Zentrale) on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

The Language Center is offering several opportunities to acquire the B1 certificate in French in 2025.

Our intensive course program has not ended yet and there are still courses you can sign up for! In March, we are offering courses in many languages as well as a three-day training on pluricultural communication skills.

In 2025, the SZHB, the Bremer Kulturinstitut and the Bremen City Library are once again teaming up to organize Language Days. The dates for the first events have now been set, with more to follow over the course of the year. We look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages!
