The department has been cooperating with Coventry University in England since 2018 and last year signed the first ERASMUS contract ever with an English university. The first Bremen students have already spent a semester abroad and students from Coventry University took part in the department's Summer Lab program in 2019. Now the cooperation has been taken to the next level:
Our field of activity is also active in this area: Together with Coventry University and UFS in Bloemfontein (South Africa), Prof. Missong is currently running a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course (B.A.) on the topic of "Data/Business Analytics", which is also an offer in the GS area.
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is the term used at Coventry University to describe experiences with "virtual mobility". These COILs are included in the curriculum and offer the opportunity to interact with international universities and industry professionals. COIL can also be used to develop intercultural competences simultaneously with digital skills while working with others on subject-specific learning tasks or activities. The COIL format is very flexible and requires at least the participation of two nationally different groups of students.
On 23 January 2020 the COIL coordinator from Coventry University Sathees Kunjuthamby will visit the department.
