Dr. Marzia Wafaee

Postdoc

Dr. Marzia Wafaee, originally from Afghanistan, holds a BSc in Chemistry from Azzahra University and an MSc in Chemistry from Iran University of Science and Technology. She earned her PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran in 2012. Following her doctoral studies, she returned to Kabul, where she served as a faculty member at Kabul University.
After Afghanistan's collapse in August 2021, she relocated to Germany and since December 2022, she has been part of Prof. Dr. Staubitz's research group, focusing on the synthesis of azobenzens liquid crystals as molecular switches operating within the visible light range.
