ComAI KickUp-Meeting

ComAI is a research group funded by the DFG and the austrian FWF entitled “Communicative AI”, which is researching in nine sub-projects the question of how social communication changes when communicative AI becomes a part of it. Voice assistants that take our commands, social bots that influence debates and machines that generate texts - all of these examples represent forms of communication automation. Based on the thesis that communicative AI stands for a profound change in our media environment, which has considerable consequences, risks but also potential for social communication, the question of how communicative AI changes this communication is raised.

In the sub-project P2 | Interfaces: Implementation of user-centered communicative AI, our colleagues Laura Spillner Johanna Rockstroh, Nina Wenig and Nima Zargham, under the direction of Rainer Malaka are investigating the design and implementation of interfaces of communicative AI as a dimension of its sociomaterial constitution using the example of communicative bots.

We wish all participants a successful project!
