Materials Science Core Facilities Synergy Forum 2025

Cultivating Exchange Between Core Facilities in Materials Science

This workshop brought together individuals who use, manage, and coordinate materials science-oriented Core Facilities across European institutions.

Our goal was to foster connections, facilitate discussions, and exchange insights on key topics, including:

• Scientific advances enabled by Core Facilities
• Roles and governance structures of Core Facilities
• Methods and software for managing facilities
• Data management in Core Facilities, e.g. common data formats or ontologies
• Public outreach
• Collaboration between Core Facilities, opportunities and funding programmes

Additionally, we organized lab tours at the University of Bremen on Tuesday and Friday, offering attendees a closer look at the facilities and fostering deeper engagement.

Venue

The event took place in the “Haus der Wissenschaft” (House of Science) in the center of Bremen.
