Tweets From the Past

It’s quite something: Historians tweet about the university’s anniversary in the class ‘#unibremen50’. Since summer semester 2019, students conduct research in the university archives as well as the Bremen state archives and engage with the history of Bremen’s university through objects.

One result: ‘material’ history compressed in tweets; time travel through fifty years of university history in Bremen –reviewed academically in the study field Public History. It focuses on history in the public eye, the reflection of its orchestration, and its instrumentalization. Dr. Thekla Keuck is responsible for this field of work at the University of Bremen. Together with her students, she translates history in memorabilia for the present, for example, a calendar for the anniversary year. Find out more here. (German only)
