Dr. Mariia Shkolnykova is currently a research associate (postdoc) and postdoctoral fellow in the research group "Innovation and Structural Economics" (Prof. Dr. Jutta Günther) at the University of Bremen. In the research group she leads the research area "Innovation and new Technologies". Her research interests lie in the areas of emergence and diffusion of innovations. She is also engaged in the Mod-Block-DDR project.
Previously, Ms. Shkolnykova studied Management at the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg (M.Sc. 2016) and Management of Foreign Economic Activity in Donetsk National Technical University, Ukraine (M.Sc. 2015). In her dissertation, which was completed in September 2020, she dealt with technological trajectories in German biotechnology as well as with the development of patent and firm-level data, especially for the case of SMEs.
